Daily Life

I apologize if I ramble on about random things on this blog but I'm not really sure what I should focus on... Other than talking about my hobbies and nonexistent social life that is. Let's see, I play huge amounts of video games. I have both an Xbox and a PC and some of my favorites are Destiny 2, Halo, StarCraft 1 & 2, and Portal 1 & 2.

I am a horror junkie and am incredibly fond of any and all horror genres.

I read. Constantly.

I have a beautiful 14 year old yellow Labrador named Goldie who is spoiled rotten and loves every second of it.

I also have three cats.

Edgar:

Cinna:

And Rags:

I really can't think of anything else to add so... Goodbye for now I guess!

Chair Thief

Today, when I was working on letter recognition with Tristan, she decided to take off down the hallway while dragging her chair along with her. It took me several minutes to get her to come back, during which she had placed the chair on her head and was walking in circles. It was absolutely hilarious and I just had to take a picture.

Journal 0

Now, on another note, I do have another reason for creating this blog. In the past two months that I've worked with the school I've noticed a few...odd...things about a few students. The teachers seem not to notice them which I find strange since these occurrences are rather obvious about the children. Not all of the kids have these issues, only one or two from each classroom but the way that the teachers seem to just sort of...pass over the problems is concerning. There are five children in particular that are...off.

Nathan: Seems to be perpetually sick. He coughs constantly and often falls asleep if he sits still for too long and it's always difficult to wake him up.

Peyton: Has sudden fits where he will begin to scream and cry for no reason. I heard his mother speaking with his teacher and apparently he has them at home as well.

Ric: He often has violent nightmares and will cry in his sleep before waking up during nap time.

Harmony: She has seizures, sometimes as many as five during the course of the day. The cause is completely unknown.

Tristan: She often hallucinates and sometimes refuses to go outside for recess.

They also seem to have the exact same imaginary friend who they call Mr. Talman. This is a character that they couldn't have made up together since none of them are in the same class and they tend to avoid one another when out on the playground during recess. I guess it could be a coincidence but considering just how active a child's imagination can be I find it highly unlikely.

I'm concerned that there might be a child predator in the area. I'd go to the police but I really don't have enough evidence and I'm afraid that I'd get blown off. For now, I'm going to use this blog as a sort of online journal for what I find.

Black History Assmbly

Today was the school assembly for Black History month. Several students from the upper grades had been working non stop to get ready for this and the result was fantastic!! The school choir sang and danced to several different songs, some of the female students performed a dance, and a pair of first grade boys did an adorable lip-syncing performance to Candy Girl by New Edition. I am incredibly proud of the Pre-K students who were extremely well behaved and managed to sit relatively still for the hour and a half assembly.

Here are some pictures of the choir performing one of their songs and the dancers as they performed. I wish that I had been able to video it, but unfortunately I didn't have my camera and was forced to use my phone which is also the source of the bad photo quality.
